9th East Med Expo, Limassol.

In the second week of April, the ninth edition of East Med Marine and Oil and Gas Exhibition was held in Limassol (CY), certainly among the most important international events in the maritime and oil and gas sector in the East Mediterranean area.

The event, supported by the most important local institutions, saw the participation of some of the most important international companies in the sector and was opened by H.E. Mrs. Vassiliki Anastassiadou, Minister of Transport, Communications and Works of the Republic of Cyprus which brought the greetings of the government and provided an overview of the sector and its important prospects for the coming years.

Sintesi Business Network, as Cypriot-Italian Business Association, was present at the event considering it particularly interesting from the point of view of developing and consolidating relationships in a sector of significant interest for several associates.

Sintesi Business Network, as Cypriot-Italian Business Association, is pleased to announce the organization of a Business Conference entitled “DOING BUSINESS IN SHIPPING – A LANDMARK FOR CYPRIOT-ITALIAN BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL RELATIONS” which will be held on May 29th, from 9.30 AM to 6.30 PM, in Limassol (CY).

The event directly organized by the General Secretary Giuseppe Marino, in cooperation with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, will be attended by the Deputy Minister of Shipping H.E. Natasa Pilides and by the Italian Ambassador in Cyprus H.E. Andrea Cavallari, as well as representatives of some of the most important italian and cypriot companies in the sector.

The program, edited by Federico Franchina, Shipping and Aviation Committee Coordinator Sintesi Network, foresees in the morning, after the institutional greetings, the conference with the presentations of qualified speakers who will provide an overview on the sector and on the opportunities for commercial exchange with Italy and in the afternoon the BtoB meetings for the operators to be booked at the conference registration.

After the events organized in Italy this is the first one organized in Cyprus by Sintesi in the context of the 2019 programming and the decision to start with the Shipping sector has not been causal considering its great importance in the development of commercial relations between the two countries.

Sintesi Business Network, born as international association particularly focused on research, study and analysis of legal and tax matters in international corporate consulting area has oriented later its focus on the promotion and development of economic, commercial and professional relations between Italy and the Republic of Cyprus, consolidating its presence as Cypriot-Italian Business Association.

Important Partnership in Cyprus with Emilianides-Katsaros Law Firm.

On 27th February 2019 Mr. Giuseppe Marino, General Secretary of Sintesi Business Network signed an important partnership agreement in Nicosia (CY) with Mr. Costas Katsaros, representing Emilianides-Katsaros law firm, one of the island’s most prestigious law firms.

This is a partnership of significant strategic interest for Sintesi Business Network, whose presence is increasingly consolidated in Cyprus, which also strengthens the relationship already in place with Mr. Costas Katsaros who is now also called to join the association’s advisory committee.

Great success for the Business Conference on Cyprus in Palermo.

Important participation of sicilian entrepreneurs and professionals at the Business Conference organized in Palermo by Sintesi Business Network, as Cypriot-Italian Business Association, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Italy and sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo.

The conference, entitled “CYPRUS: AN INTERNATIONAL HUB SINCE ANTIQUITY”. The Legal – Tax Framework and the Opportunities of Commercial, Economic, Professional Interchange with Italy”, hosted in the Sala Terrasi of the Palermo Chamber of Commerce saw the participation of the main trade and professional associations, and was moderated by Avv. Alessandro Dagnino who, after the opening of the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo and Enna Dr. Guido Barcellona and the Board Member Dr. Nicola Farruggio, representing the President of the same Chamber Dr. Alessandro Albanese, passed the word to the authoritative representatives of the institutions Italian and Cypriot and representatives of trade and professional associations.

In particular, after the greetings of the Vice President of the Sicily Region and Vice President of the CPMR Prof. Gaetano Armao, it was the turn of Dr. Giulia Sykopetrites, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Italy and of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Sicily Arch. Sebastiano Provenzano.

Before moving on to the presentations, greetings were then given by the spokesperson of the Palermo Category Associations Dr. Patrizia Di Dio, by the President of the Sicindustria Young Entrepreneurs of Palermo Dr. Luca Silvestrini and the national coordinator of the Young Professionals Federation Avv. Cinzia Capizzi.

The presentations, all followed with great interest by the numerous present were respectively edited by Dr. Giuseppe Marino, International Business Lawyer and founding member of the Cypriot-Italian Business Association who provided a complete overview of the “Legal and Tax Framework and operational aspects for Italian companies interested in Cyprus”, by Dr. Constantinos Talianos, Commercial Adviser of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry of Cyprus who presented the “Main Sectors and Commercial, Economic and Professional Interchange Opportunities” and by Avv. Federico Franchina, Professor of Navigation Law and Coordinator of the Shipping and Aviation Committee of Sintesi Network, the Cypriot-Italian Business Association which provided an overview of “Macro Mediterranean Region. Insularity and Perspectives of Cooperation”.

Just in this last intervention an important bilateral conference was announced, addressed to the operators of Shipping that the Sintesi, Cypriot-Italian Business Association is organizing with important institutional partners and which will be held in Cyprus on May 29th and in Italy on September 19th.

So great success for what was the first event of the 2019 Sintesi programming, organized in Sicily not by causal choice, but in consideration of the proximity between the two Islands, both strategically placed in the Mediterranean macro-region and united by multiple elements.
